Aphasia Centre of Ottawa provides care aimed at enhancing the quality of life of people affected by aphasia by helping them improve their ability to communicate with others and regain their self-confidence. Aphasia Centre of Ottawa is a unique non-profit, community-based organization that relies on donations and fees to provide these much-needed services. The primary goal is to facilitate renewed participation in social activities and encourage people to overcome the isolation that often results from aphasia by helping them re-establish social contacts.

Le Centre d’aphasie d’Ottawa aide les gens atteints d’une perte de la parole ou de la capacité de comprendre le langage, généralement à la suite d’un accident vasculaire cérébral. L’aphasie touche la capacité de communiquer verbalement, de comprendre ce que disent les autres, et souvent de lire et d’écrire.
